Few days ago some of you might have realized that I was doing some tests on Facebook Events. I was trying to see some of the features of Facebook events and did not realize that it was publishing, especially that it was giving me an error message. This is why I tried more than once and you have a received three invitation for a "Test" event. I am very sorry for the inconvenience that this might have caused you.

I have received, calls, mobile test messages, e-mails, facebook messages, asking me about the "Test" event, and in my apology replies I mentioned to some that I am working on a design for a workshop but that it is still under preparation.

The design is in its final phases and in this article I would like to introduce you to the reasons that led me to design such a workshop, and the benefits that we can get from the content of this workshop.

One of the niches that I work on as a life coach is "Discovering Life Purpose." Even when I was still training for my life coaching certification, this niche was one that I felt so close to and related to. In my mind I felt this should not be a niche, this should be the first step that a person who is seeking development and growth should take.

In life coaching the agenda of the relationship and the agenda of each session is decided by the client. The life coach cannot dictate the area of discussion nor the goal sought by the client. All these are areas that only the client can decide on. 

Because life coaching in Jordan is new, many clients would not know the scope that life coaching can cover. We try to cover that in the first exploration session, but there are sometimes predefined beliefs that will be hard to go through, even if the client shows that he/she understood what I am saying, but they might not have grasped totally the meaning I am trying to express. The real meaning of certain issues in life coaching is discovered along the path of the actual sessions, and I can see clearly that the client is getting through experience what I was trying to express in words in the first session. 

Because of the above reasons, it would be hard and wrong to suggest to clients to work on life purpose even if I thought that this is the right path. But who am I to decide what is right and what is wrong. At the end it should be the client who decides the path he/she wants to take and the area(s) that he/she wants to work on.

My belief that life purpose is an important first step in the path towards personal development and personal growth, led me to think of a different way to introduce the concept. Many of you know that besides the fact that I am a certified life coach, I am also a Certified International Professional Trainer (CIPT). Therefore, the idea came to me to design a workshop that is based on the life coaching techniques of discovering life purpose but to tailor it to become a workshop for a group of people.

The path to discover life purpose is a path of self discovery in which you will need to discover other areas within yourself until you are able to reach the point of discovering and drafting your life purpose. The journey will not stop here, as after we discover our life purpose there will be other steps, but I will leave those details for later.
