In the past panic disorder was taken lightly. People would think that a person is just under stress and needs to relax. Finding panic disorder cures would not be thought of not because they want to torture the person; they simply did not know that it was a disorder.

People could have used the word “panic” to describe the situation that the person went through, but if the case persists people would become impatient and might even go as far as accusing the person as craving for attention.

Unfortunately the situation today is not better than it was in that past, yet it is on the other extreme. If in the past people did not know that panic could be a persistent disorder causing severe attacks, today nearly everybody knows about panic disorder, and worse everybody has a way to overcome it.

Today everybody is an expert in panic and anxiety disorders, and they would go as far as suggesting a treatment or even a medication.

It is a fact that if we think that we know, while we don’t, is much worse than not knowing at all. A patient who suffers from panic disorder who would listen to people around him/her and actually tries their suggestions for panic disorder cures, only to find out that nothing that they said words, would eventually be discourage to take any action in the future, and would think that he/she would have to live with this disorder for ever.

Today as much as there is hype around this discipline but there are credible and effective panic disorder cures around. Some experts even went to the extreme as once a patient is properly diagnosed for panic disorder; the treatment is there and the way out is very possible.

In the above paragraph it is very important to notice the phrase “properly diagnosed.” This is a very essential step. Many of the people who think they know, when they observe certain symptoms that are familiar to them for a panic disorder case, they would right away give themselves the permission to give a diagnosis for panic disorder.

What these people don’t know is that panic disorder symptoms are shared with other medical conditions. So the first thing that we need to conduct is eliminate any other medical condition from the picture before diagnosing a panic disorder.

Guess how we do that. Yes, we go to the doctor. A doctor is the only person who is capable of giving a proper diagnosis. We cannot diagnose ourselves. Our friends and family, while they love us to bits, they still are not capable of giving a proper diagnosis.

Only when the diagnosis is confirms that the case at hand is a panic disorder, we go ahead with finding a treatment or looking for suitable panic disorder cures that can help us in overcoming anxiety.

There are different panic disorder cures with different results on different people. What worked for others does not necessarily mean that it will work for us. Still it is always a better bet to take a treatment path that proved to be effective for other people.

Finding credible and effective panic disorder cures is not an easy task. The discipline has attracted many frauds with their fraudulent treatment methods. For this reason we have conducted our own research to find such effective and credible anxiety natural cures.

Why natural? We are not very fond of medication. Saying that does not mean that we can deny the advantages of medication as a panic disorder cure for the short term. Yet since medication is not a long term anxiety solution we have concentrated our search on what solves the problem from the roots.

We have found two programs that fulfill the quality criteria that we were looking for. Those programs are:

1- Panic Away: This program depends on a technique called the “One Move Technique.”

2- The Linden Method: This one depends on the theory that all panic and anxiety disorders have one source in the brain. This method attacks this source to find a solution to anxiety and panic.

We have found that both programs have received a very good amount of positive reviews from their users.

If a person never had a panic attack, then it is impossible to understand what it feels like. Many describe it as a terrible feeling, that is for sure an understatement. Yet to be able to know how to control panic attacks, a person must first go through the following steps:

Step 1: If such attacks are frequent then the person must not attempt neither to hide it nor to ignore it

Step 2: A person should not attempt to make a self diagnosis. The panic attack symptoms are shared with other medical conditions and a person must have a proper diagnosis before embarking on a recovery path. Therefore, the step here is to seek professional help immediately.

Step 3: If the diagnosis proves that what you are going through is for sure a panic attack, then the first thing that you will need to learn is to know how to control panic attacks.

Step 4: You should embark on a long term recovery strategy. This involves finding a scientific based natural method that targets the root of the problem.

These are the steps in brief. Now we want to explore further steps 3 & 4. Finding a technique that teaches you how to control panic attacks is not easy anymore. What made this task difficult is the abundance of techniques available.

Many of those techniques promote themselves as ones that help control panic attacks, but what their real core is merely some stress release activities that are known to the general public.

You will also find a great confusion in the way anxiety or panic attacks treatments distinguish, or lack of, between presenting techniques to control panic attacks and cure from panic attacks.

We will draw the difference here just in case it is not clear. A technique or method that shows us how to control panic attacks is one that is useful to use when the panic attack strikes or is starting to give its initial signals that it is going to strike. Such methods will show us what do in such cases and accordingly either control the severity of the attack or prevent it, depending on how well we conducted the method and at what stage we felt the symptoms.

A panic attack cure on the other hand is a method that will help us get over panic attacks totally. It means when this method is implemented a person should not have another panic attack.

In our research to find credible and effective methods that would help us in knowing how to control panic attacks we have found two programs and this how feel about them and how they fit with the above mentioned steps.

The first program uses a technique that is called the “one hand movement.” This technique helps the person anticipate a panic attack before it happens. Of course this happens after mastering the method. Now, the feedback and the reviews that we have read about this program are all positive, it also showed that it helped people overcome their panic attack totally. We are not sure if this means getting rid of panic attacks from its roots, or because of mastering the technique the sufferer is able to catch the attack before it happens. You can check it for yourself. It is called Panic Away.

The second program is more of long term solution rather than helping us know how to control panic attacks. It is more helping us to overcome panic attacks totally. This method bases its solution on an agreed upon theory among professionals in the domain that all anxiety related disorders are based in one area in the brain. This method targets this area to solve panic attacks and other anxiety related disorders. This program is called The Linden Method.

We have summarized a description of the above programs and added other informational channels that include other anxiety attacks treatments. You can take a look at all that in our anxiety centre.

Nearly in every subject that talks about solving a problem we find a self help tool, guide, manual…etc. Does self help work in anxiety disorder?

Come to think of it the only way for someone to overcome anxiety disorder is through self help. Doctors of all disciplines, experts, ex-sufferers, and the people around you can only provide guidance and support. The way out is only in ones hands.

When we look for self help programs, we must be careful of a couple of things. The first is the term "self help" itself. When we mention self help it means that there are other programs that are not self help.

All natural methods are considered self help. The only part that we can accept as not self help is medication regardless of it is chemical or herbal.

Medication in general does not help you directly to overcome your anxiety disorder. It merely suppresses the symptoms. Once you are off the medication, the symptoms come back.

The other thing that we need to take note of is the distinction between overcoming anxiety on one side and other terms such dealing with your anxiety, controlling your anxiety and other similar terms.

Dealing and controlling your anxiety does not mean overcoming or ending your anxiety. It normally means dealing with an attack when it happens.

Those methods that guide the person on how to deal with an anxiety attack could become a very good substitution for medication. A substitution that is highly encouraged we must add.

Here is one obovious example of self help tips to control your anxiety attacks:

Continuous repetitions of those methods could lead to the reprogramming of the fear triggers that were initially set to ignite the attack.

We must be aware though that such methods that help us deal and control our anxiety attacks do not target the fear triggers directly. They act exactly like a medicine to suppress the symptoms. They are better than a medicine since they do not have side effects.

Accordingly self help anxiety disorder programs are anxiety natural treatments that should help us overcome our disorder not just deal or control the anxiety attacks when they occur.

Finding such programs is not easy. What we need to look for in such anxiety programs is credibility and effectiveness. We have conducted our own research in this domain and we have come up with two programs that fulfilled both criteria. We have found good amount of positive reviews from both users and experts who would recommend these programs.

The first program is called Panic Away, and the second is called The Linden Method. I am sure you must have come across at least one of them if you have done a research on self help anxiety disorder programs.

We will continually introduce material for you to better understand what is Anxiety. We will continue our research and bring you more information to cover as many aspects as possible of anxiety. Meanwhile you can check the list of materials and tools that we gathered for you to tackle and solve anxiety for yourself and others at our Anxiety Centre.

If you make a simple search over the internet about anxiety or panic cures you will always find many sites promoting an anxiety natural cure as a substitute to medication.

Is medication really bad. Well every medication has its side effects. Therefore, it is very important to understand from your doctor the effects of each medication he/she is prescribing and its side effects.

We often notice that doctors always tend to find it easier to prescribe medication for anxiety, stress, panic, depression and other similar disorders.

Patients normally have very limited patience when it comes to time to recover. They need immediate results. Medication in general has that advantage over natural remedies.

Anxiety or panic attacks can really paralyze a person’s life. When the sufferer is looking for a cure or wants to get over this disorder. They would want to do it in the quickest way possible. A natural cure will not do the job.

Therefore, doctors tend to prescribe medication for that purpose. A good doctor though will give the whole picture to his/her patient. Anxiety medication is not a cure. It merely suppresses the symptoms so that the patients can have control over their lives.

An anxiety natural remedy on the other hand is a cure. It tackles the root of the fear that is causing the mind to react and set itself on the fight or flight mode.

The disadvantage of such natural remedies is that it takes relatively longer time to take effect. It also has a great dependency on the patient’s discipline. It is because of these factors that anxiety sufferers might prefer medication over natural cures.

The problem with medication is that once an anxiety sufferer is off the medication, the attacks hit back. This is simply because of what we have mentioned before, that medication acts as a symptom suppressor.

Usually doctors, and depending on the case they are handling, follow a strategy of starting the treatment with medication and then recommending a natural treatment that will help the sufferer overcome the disorder for ever.

When looking for an anxiety natural cure, which seems that the internet is offering an abundance of, one should structurally research for ones that are credible and effective.

We have conducted our own research and we have found two programs that depend on completely natural procedures to overcome anxiety.

The first one is called Panic Away, and the second is called The Linden Method. When we researched these programs we have found that they have received quite a good amount of positive feedback and reviews from both experts in the area and users.

As many know there are different kinds of panic and anxiety treatments. Each treatment path has its effects and side effects.

For example a person can realize the positive results of medication much faster than following a natural or spiritual remedy or path. Yet the latter is more of a cure while medication only supresses the symptoms.

There is not here something that is called good or bad in absolute terms. The most important thing is your case; accordingly we would be looking for the most suitable recovery path that suits your case.

The first step that any person who realizes the symptoms is to consult with a doctor. No one should attempt to make self diagnosis regardless of how much knowledge he/she has about the subject.

We should also refrain from getting a diagnosis from someone who has read about the subject or was himself/herself sufferer of anxiety or panic disorder. At the same time we should all refrain from giving diagnosis to anyone regardless of how much we know about the subject. The only person who is qualified to make a diagnosis is a doctor.

Why is this serious? Every single step of the recovery process depends on the diagnosis. Let us look at the following scenarios:

1- We are treating ourselves from anxiety while what we have is a medical condition that share the same symptoms with anxiety.

2- We are treating ourselves from one type of anxiety while we are suffering from another type.

3- We are treating ourselves from anxiety, but all the treatments that we bought into were fraud.

If it was anxiety that you are diagnosed with, then the best thing to do is to team up with your doctor and together you will be able to overcome it.

You have a big role to play. Its not just the doctor that will cure you. You need to read as much as you can about your anxiety disorder type.

Find anxiety natural remedies that will cure you totally in the long run. Find techniques that will enable you to take control of your life and get rid of your fears.

When you understand what type of anxiety you suffer from, you should conduct a structured research to find such natural ways to overcome anxiety.

We say structured because you need make sure that the method that go your interest is credible and effective.

We have conducted our own research in this area and have found a couple of programs that have received very positive reviews from both user and experts.

The first one is called Panic Away, and the second is called The Linden Method. Check them out and see if they could be part of your recovery strategy.

The first thing that we need to note when deciding on an anxiety attacks treatment is to know for sure that we are dealing with an anxiety case.

How did we arrive to the conclusion that the symptoms that we are feeling are caused by anxiety.

In previous posts we have discussed in detail each of the anxiety physical symptoms. Our research which we have discussed in those posts shows that anxiety symptoms are shared by other ailments. Accordingly the cause of those symptoms might not necessarily be anxiety.

Therefore, going back to our opening statement of this post, the first thing that we need to do is make sure that the symptoms we are experiencing are caused by anxiety. How do we do that?

It is really very simple; we need to seek professional help. What we need to exclude is that we are not suffering from a medical condition that is causing these symptoms.

Once a doctor confirms this fact, the doctor must also confirm that what we are experiencing are anxiety attacks.

What we also need to take into consideration that If we have experienced such an attack once or twice, this does not usually qualify as a diagnosis for an anxiety disorder. But do not depend on this post to decide on that. Actually do not depend on anybody telling you anything unless you hear it from a doctor.

Now if our case is diagnosed as an anxiety disorder we should not jump and start looking for an anxiety attacks treatment. What we should do next is consult with a specialized professional to know what type of anxiety are we suffering from and try to understand the underlying causes behind it.

Once we have a full understanding of our case, then we can start looking for solutions. Looking for such solutions must also be done in a very structured manner.

We should not jump at the first treatment that we find and buy into it. There are different methods and strategies to overcome anxiety. Different people respond to different methods and what worked for someone does necessarily mean it will work for me.

What we need to conduct is a structured research in which we gather as much information as possible about the different methods. If during this research we felt certain excitement about one of those methods we can concentrate our research on this method and search for reviews from user and experts to fully understand the scope of this method.

With all that we still might not hit the right solution from the first time. You need to treat this as treating any other problem in your life. If one solution does not work then you need to go and find another.

To make things easier for people who are searching for such anxiety attacks treatments, we have conducted our own research and found a couple of methods that receive very good reviews from both users and experts. We encourage you not to jump right ahead. Make your own research about those methods to make sure that they suit your case and you will be able to follow them.

The first of those anxiety programs is called Panic Away, and the second is called the Linden Method. If you have already done a research on the Internet I am sure you have at least come across one of them.

Before we get to the panic attack definition, let us try to understand what is the simple panic definition.

Panic is described as a sudden strong feeling of fear. Such a sudden feeling would prevent the person from reasonable thought or action.

Let us analyze that description. The preconditions of fear are that it must be sudden and strong. For a If such sudden and strong fear stops the mind from processing reason whether in thought or in action.

Accordingly panic in its simple and normal form is when we are thinking and/or acting unreasonably to a situation that has made us feel suddenly frightened.

Until now things are normal, and each single one of us must have experienced such a situation of panic.

Now let us see what is a panic attack definition. A panic attack has been described as a sudden and intense fear that is developed for no apparent reason which triggers severe physical reactions.

Before we start analyzing those two definitions, let us look at this video that we brought to you that looks closely at what is a simple panic. The language used is very foul and I would say rated 18&#43 for language, but with very simple and foul language it actually explains simple panic plainly.

This next video explains panic attack and with completing both videos you will be able to clearly understand the difference between both explanations and panic definitions. Here it is:

We can see that the precondition for a panic attack and a simple panic is the same when it comes to "sudden" and "strong=intense."

The first difference that we can realize between both definitions is that we panic in most cases for what is commonly perceived as an apparent reason. The panic attack on the other hand, is triggered for what is commonly perceived as no apparent reason.

The other explanation for the difference could be within the evaluation itself of what is an apparent reason. Let us say that two people where presented with the same environment. One just panicked and the other was hit by a panic attack.

Because the reaction of the first was a simple panic, we might perceive the situation as something that would make a person panic a bit. But when we see that the reaction of the second person as a panic attack, we would say that there was nothing around that would make a person freak out like this.

Our concern with the definition of a panic attack, which is very similar if not the same sometimes to anxiety, is that individual perception and evaluation of the situation plays a big role in defining whether the reason behind the attack is real/apparent or not.

The second difference between a simple panic and a panic attack definition is the reaction or behavior of the person under panic. In a simple panic we would just see that the person is speaking and acting in an unreasonable manner. This is when we say that a person is not thinking straight.

With a panic attack there would be evident physical symptoms if not to the surrounding people at least to the person who is experiencing such an attack. Increased heart rate, difficulty of swallowing, sweating and cold and hot flashes are only some of things that a person can feel when under a panic attack.

If the reason behind a panic attack is not real, we have to understand that the panic attack itself is very real.

Panic attack under anxiety DSM IV is categorized under anxiety disorders and it is a serious disorder that we must pay attention to and treat.

<![endif]-->. OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. To be able to launch our journey into OCD definition we need to clarify something out first.

We were reluctant to include OCD and its definition within our "What is Anxiety" blog. We were not sure if obsessive compulsive disorder was classified under anxiety disorders.

When we consulted with anxiety DSM IV, we found that OCD is actually classified as an anxiety disorder and the classification that we found goes as follows:

"Obsessive compulsive disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by complaints of persistent or repetitive thoughts/obsessions or behaviors/compulsions. The person feels compelled to continue despite an awareness that the thoughts or behaviors may be excessive or inappropriate, and feels distress if they stop them."

Those kind of feelings explained above are found to be in contrast to addictive behaviors. Addictive behaviors produce pleasure and/or gratification rather then distress.

Accordingly OCD is a psychiatric disorder that is characterized by obsessive thoughts and compulsive actions. The most commonly known compulsive actions are cleaning, checking and counting.

We are including here a very rich video that explains the details of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to help us better understand what is OCD.

OCD can be a disabling condition that can persist throughout the life time of the sufferer. An OCD sufferer becomes trapped in a pattern of repetitive thoughts and behaviors that are senseless and distressing but extremely difficult to overcome. Resisting such thoughts and behaviors would trigger anxiety in the sufferer.

OCD treatment is either conducted through cognitive behavioral therapy or through medication. Individuals responsiveness differ. some respond to medication others found medication as useless and they approach the treatment through the cognitive behavioral therapy.

Some are found to start their treatment through medication to control the symptoms and then move into the cognitive behavioral therapy.

In general medication was found to be fine to suppress the symptoms, but once the sufferer is off the medication the sensations would come back and the patient would relapse.

To treat OCD through traditional psychotherapy aimed at helping the patients develop insight into their problem is generally found not that helpful. However it was found that specific behavior therapy approach was more successful. One approach is called "exposure and response prevention." The other approach that we found and could help in the OCD treatment is one that is called the Linden Method.

While studying stress symptoms we did not find them far away from anxiety symptoms. We even found some who would talk about anxiety as the long term extension of stress. Others would explain that prolonged stress would lead to anxiety.

We find ourselves more inclined toward the second opinion. Yet, in both cases the similarities in symptoms are explained and justified.

Even the "fight or flight" approach is described in both stress and anxiety. I am becoming more close to concluding that both terms anxiety and stress describe the same thing and the difference lies in the time frame and severity of the symptom.

Before we move any further I would like you to watch this video that I found that explains how understand the source behind anxiety help reduce it and overcome it. We said before that the most common cause behind anxiety is stress and this video is based on that.

If we play a movie to show the build up we would see someone who is living under the following circumstances:

- Tight schedule at work and home

- Deadlines of work projects and paying bills

- having to make presentations at work with a very short notice, or too much material to cover for too many subjects to prepare for exams.

If those conditions persist, the mind will get weary and anything can trigger an anxious state which could lead to a panic attack.

So we see it as a glasses filling up and over spilling on the next glass. If the stress glass is filled then it will overspill on (trigger) the anxiety glass, and when this fills up it will overspill on (trigger) Panic attack.

Now we will look at the set of symptoms that would give us a heads up on the creeping stress. We will divide the symptoms into four groups. When reading the physical symptoms notice how they are extremely to anxiety physical symptoms. We have discussed those in a previous article.
