It is not an easy job to come with an anxiety definition, therefore, we have opted to make the articles related to this subject divided into two. This way we make sure that we have covered as much material as possible on this aspect of anxiety as it furnishes the basis of any future articles on the topic.

To be able to have a simple understanding of anxiety and its definition we can say that anxiety is a disorder and many put it under the category of mental illnesses or disorders.

Anxiety is a feeling of nervousness, apprehension, fear, or worry. It is a common condition that can be a self-limited physiologic response to a stressor, or it can persist and result in debilitating emotions. Some fears and worries are justified, such as worry about a loved one or inĀ anticipation of taking a quiz, test, or other examinations.

Mental health disorders account for approximately 5.5% of emergency room visits and, among these mental health visits, 21% are due to anxiety. Because generalized anxiety disorder, and panic attacks present with a similar symptoms, a similar approach can be used for both. The goal of the emergency physician is to help determine the cause of anxiety and initiate a safe and effective management plan for relief.

Anxiety Disorder is a general term. Underneath this term there are many categories pertaining to specific Anxiety disorders. Let us take for example Problem anxiety. It particularly interferes with the ability to sleep. It is important to note that teenagers are particularly susceptible to having irritability as a symptom of a number of emotional problems, including anxiety.

Finally, Anxiety may be triggered without a cause, or it may occur based on a real situation but may be out of proportion to what would normally be expected. Severe anxiety can have a serious impact on daily life.

We will be building the information bank for Anxiety gradually. The first base is to be comfortable that we have built good material to cover the Anxiety Definition aspect. It is important to build this level to be able to move to different aspects of anxiety.
