With this article we come to the third and last category of anxiety causes. This is the second categorization that our research efforts dug up. The previous two categories discussed brain chemistry and hereditary causes. In this article we are going to discuss what is called Life Experiences.

We would like to note at the beginning of this article that we found this category more general as opposed to the more specific previous two categories.

Everybody agrees on the strength of the relationship between anxiety disorder and experiencing a life of abuse, violence and/or poverty. As we have seen in the previous category that anxiety could be a learned behavior, experts believe that as it can be a learned behavior, it can be unlearned.

Within the same category which is under the title "Life Experiences" we have found the following anxiety causes mentioned as well:

1- Caffeine

2- Cocaine

3- amphetamines

4- Side effects of certain medications.

5- Pregnancy

6- A new Job

7- Loss of a loved one

8- Extended Depression (Something that we have discussed in our previous articles)

9- A feeling that things are going out of control. e.g. rising debt, exams, work deadlines...etc.

10- Different stress factors. (We have discussed this in a previous categorization structure of anxiety causes)

11- Prolonged exposure to stress hormones such as Cortisol.

12- Prolonged anxiety disorder can create fear of anxiety which creates an vicious anxiety cause/effect circle.

Let us give a live example on how the above factors could play their roles to create a life experience anxiety cause. A person who is passing through a phase of depression will most probably be experiencing disrupted sleeping patterns and exhaustion. Let us try to zoom in on such a person.

The person is not able to get enough sleep. Tries to get up to work, but he is too tired. A finally wakes up at a time were for sure he want reach work on time. He finally gets up racing time. The traffic starts to get on his/her nerves. While driving he/she remembers the tasks awaiting at work and the deadlines. He/she starts to realize that it will be impossible to finish them on time especially that he/she is arriving late to work. He/she starts to imagine the conversation with the boss that he/she will have to have once at work. Another conversation will come up when the deadline actually passes. With all those factors combined, it could very much lead to a state of anxiety.

So in this life experience case the flow went like this: Depression - disrupted sleeping patterns - tiredness - work stress - anxiety.
