What was at some point a rare mental disorder is becoming now one of the most common ones. In the USA approximately 2.3% of the population between the ages 18-54 suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder or what is also known as OCD. Accordingly researching and understanding what is OCD and its definition became important in our mind.

In the USA about 3.3 million people is said to have OCD. 1 out of 200 adults have OCD and twice that have had it at one point in their life.

Apart form the above, the following facts and figures are what the main reason that made us want to research and write about OCD:

Nearly a third to half of all OCD sufferers will find that the roots of their disorder started in their childhood. It was found that cases of OCD have been reported in children who are 1.5 years young. We need to bear in mind the difficulties of actually diagnosing OCD at such an age especially with the lack of speach development.  Most OCD cases start showing symptoms while being a teenager or in early adulthood.

OCD occurs in a spectrum from mild to severe, but if severe and left untreated, can destroy a person's capacity to function at work, at school, or even at home.

Our research results can be found in our blog post "What is OCD Definition." We have also found a program that has a technique that solves almost all anxiety related disorders including OCD by attacking the main source of all such disorders. It is called the Linden Method.

We will continually introduce material for you to better understand what is Anxiety. We will continue our research and bring you more information to cover as many aspects as possible of anxiety.
