While searching the internet for anxiety solutions we come across quite a few who promote themselves as self help anxiety disorder programs. The first question that came to my mind was exactly the one which is the title of this piece. Do these programs actually work? Then I asked; what is the difference between a self help program and another which is not self help? The answer that I came up with made the first question obsolete. I used the word "obsolete" so as not to be rude to myself. The answer that I came up with is that any program that does not involve taking pills is self help. A book, a councilor, a psychiatrist, an expert, even an ex-sufferer who managed to beat anxiety will give me steps. Who needs to follow these steps? I need to follow these steps. So if I follow the suggested steps on my own they say that I am going to overcome my anxiety disorder. Isn't this self help in simple words? Are all the steps given to get rid of anxiety disorder? Now this is a good question. The simple answer is no. To read more about this topic you can read our post titled "Self Help Anxiety Disorder Programs."
