Tampa's Walter Industries to close its home-building business (The Sarasota Herald-Tribune)
Diversified company Walter Industries Inc. said it would close its loss-making home-building unit, Jim Walter Homes, that would affect about 230 jobs, sending its shares up nearly 5 percent.
